Now in its fifth year, the Women of Influence award program shines the spotlight on local businesswomen, community leaders and philanthropists who are a force in the Puget Sound.

A Woman of Influence clearly possesses the authority and power to "move the needle" in business and industry. At the same time, she knows that her position is not one she can use simply for her own good, but also for the good of her company, it's employees, the community and other women striving to sit behind her desk someday. The Puget Sound Business Journal's 2008 Women of Influence Awards will honor these women.

A panel of independent judges will assess the nominations and applications. Winners will be invited to attend an awards celebration in their honor and will be featured in a special Women of Influence publication within the Puget Sound Business Journal.
